Rockin' It Terrist Style

The Military PsyOps of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

The way I figure it, if kids hadn't grown up being told that we should accept "misfits" like Herme the Dentist, we wouldn't even be talking about the general acceptance of gays by military personnel.

And why the hell was Dolly on the Island of Misfit Toys anyway?

Got Cash?

Well, now. You know the fancy computer virus Stuxnet that was seemingly developed to target Siemens computer software? Well, supposedly it was only for machines related to developing nuclear weapons.

But Siemens doesn't just make computer hardware and software for that purpose. They make other things.... like ATMs and banking hardware and software.

And Rodney Joffe, senior technologist at Neustar, calls Stuxnet a "precision guided cybermunition" and predicts that criminals will try to use Stuxnet to infect ATMs run by PLCs to steal money from the machines.

And I'm not saying this is what happened in Australia this weekend, but

A corrupted file in the National Australia Bank's computers on Wednesday jammed its payment system, hitting customers from a range of banks who rely on the NAB to process payments.

Yeah, it may not be a virus. But as unstable as the world economy a.k.a. "bankster house of cards" is right now,  it wouldn't take a lot to see some stupidly destructive overreactions on somebody's part.

Now see there Sheeple? THIS is how Propaganda is SUPPOSED to work!

Gizmodo: People are tweeting that the TSA has turned off the Scanners and no Groping is being performed.

So, no "pat-downs" and no scans equals no protests, no delays. Everything goes smoothly and the Propaganda Media smirks at the "failure" of the protests.

Pope finally grows one. Promptly slaps a condom on it.

Yahoo!  (news)

Pope Benedict XVI has opened the door on the previously taboo subject of condoms as a way to fight HIV, saying male prostitutes who use condoms may be beginning to act responsibly. It's a stunning comment for a pontiff who has blamed condoms for making the AIDS crisis worse.

Interesting that he specifically mentions "male prostitutes". Perhaps because of his functional similarity to one?

Sound like the kid would be better off with the homeless guy.

Car Thief Scolds Mom For Leaving Kid In Car

The mother took the child back to the car, started the engine and heater and then went back to the beach to help her boyfriend get the fishing gear, police said.
Investigators said a homeless man hopped in the car and took off, with the child inside.A few minutes later, the car thief took the car back and yelled at the couple for leaving the child in the car, police said.
Well, what do you expect? It's Texas. If they only required 22 year-olds to have license for raising kids AND fishing.

No means: Don't Touch My Junk

The Curmudgeon was conversing today regarding the "Don't Touch My Junk" Guy. It was pointed out that women have been saying this very thing forever, albeit in a more straightforward way. But the first time some guy gets publicly humiliated by having his 'nads backhand brushed against his will, suddenly men have this huge movement.

Well, The Crumudgeon can attempt to balance the scales in the only way he knows how. Let's remind all the Dumbasses out there:

No Means No = Don't Touch My Junk!

A little insight for you CaveMen: If Men Could Menstruate.

Newly Elected CongressCritter demands "his" government-subsidized health care

After winning on a platform of Anti "Obama-Care"
From: Politico

Republican Andy Harris, an anesthesiologist who defeated freshman Democrat Frank Kratovil on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, reacted incredulously when informed that federal law mandated that his government-subsidized health care policy would take effect on Feb. 1 – 28 days after his Jan. 3rd swearing-in.

“He stood up and asked the two ladies who were answering questions why it had to take so long, what he would do without 28 days of health care,” said a congressional staffer who saw the exchange. The benefits session, held behind closed doors, drew about 250 freshman members, staffers and family members to the Capitol Visitors Center auditorium late Monday morning,”.

“Harris then asked if he could purchase insurance from the government to cover the gap,” added the aide, who was struck by the similarity to Harris’s request and the public option he denounced as a gateway to socialized medicine.

Hey Dumbass.... try taking the advice you are so eager to foist onto others: Suck it up and get over it.

What? Your doctor doesn't take Chickens?

Question: Which of our Socialists Political Parties promoted this as a Platform?

What is it with Catholic Priests and Republican Politicians?

BBC:
A Catholic priest in Spain has been arrested over the alleged possession of thousands of images of child sex abuse. Police said they found 21,000 images on computers inside the 52-year-old's church in Vilafames, in the east of the country.

Duke Chronicle
Cliff Satell,Duke University senior and former vice chair of Duke College Republicans, was arrested in April 2009 on five counts of second-degree exploitation of a minor and five counts of third-degree exploitation of a minor. Satell obtained and possessed digital videos of preteen and teen boys engaging in sexual acts.

Well, there's one more addition to the Armchair Subversive's massive Republican Values Create Pedophiles list. And will probably make it to SodaHead's list as well.

You know the old joke.... Q: What's the difference between a sex scandal involving a Democrat and one involving a Republican?

A: At least with the Democrat you know it involved a consenting live female.

Surprise. Very Attractive Female Singled Out For "Naked Scan"

So who, exactly, is forcing her to fly? Is she being prevented from traveling in any other fashion? If no, then while I sympathize with her distress, I don't see the problem. She chose to fly, knowing what might happen. If she found the possibilities of being scanned or "rubbed down" problematic she should have chosen another way to travel.

While I absolutely disagree with the use of scanners and MOST of the post 9/11 security screening procedures; airlines are businesses. Businesses regulated by the government to be sure, but businesses nevertheless. And they should be treated as such by consumers.

If she had walked into Taco Bell or Target and was treated in the same fashion, would she go back to Taco Bell or Target? Probably not. If she complained about her treatment to the manager and found no resolution, she would move up the chain of command until someone listened.

If the chain of command doesn't work, then the action she undertook is the next best step; make it a public embarrassment. Failing those things, boycott them. There are many other modes of travel: buses, trains, car pools, private planes, that do not require this type of screening. If you want to hear the airlines squeal, take away their revenue stream.

Yes the screeners, the TSA are part of a government entity. But if the airlines start complaining about losing business because of these measures the government will, as they always do, find ways to “accommodate” big business. If that isn't punitive enough pursue a lawsuit, hell, get all the other traumatized together and make it a class action suit.

Ultimately, I don't have much sympathy for her situation. She made the choice to put herself in it. And like it or not, she knew she was choosing to play Titty Twister Roulette as soon as she entered the airport.

No matter what the outraged say, this isn’t about civil liberties. This is about convenience made inconvenient. Not exactly what the Founding Fathers were enduring when they coined the phrase: “Give me liberty or give me death.” Because if you truly think there is a comparison between armed militia breaking into your house, stealing your food and torturing or killing you and your family and being able to cut 3 hours off your travel time, your understanding of the concepts of suffering and of history are seriously out of kilter.

Shit Meet Fan

Hey working class proles! You can forget retirement (unless you're willing to become socialists).

The Business Insider explains it in small words and short phrases. -With helpful pictures-

And while they didn't specifically mention the dreaded "S" word, we all know what Social Security really is. It's Socialism. Always has been. So when you accept Social Security (Social as in Socialism, Security as in the government will help keep you secure in your old age) you are engaging in that very behavior.

Now, you can hold onto your core values and refuse to accept Social Security after the pension funds inevitably run out. Or you can go the Rand Paul route and keep lying to everybody until just after the deadline. Then you can pull off your anti-socialist mask and revel in your new-found hypocrisy.

Our Cheese is Fascist And Our Citizens Are Fatheads

It is a rare day when you will hear me agree with a TeaBagger on anything. But in this instance, I'll make an exception. The government should not be running marketing campaigns for private corporations.

The New York Times

And Dairy Management, which has made cheese its cause, is not a private business consultant. It is a marketing creation of the United States Department of Agriculture — the same agency at the center of a federal anti-obesity drive that discourages over-consumption of some of the very foods Dairy Management is vigorously promoting.

n
The Yin and Yang of the Global Food Supply

Dairy Management, whose annual budget approaches $140 million, is largely financed by a government-mandated fee on the dairy industry. But it also receives several million dollars a year from the Agriculture Department, which appoints some of its board members, approves its marketing campaigns and major contracts and periodically reports to Congress on its work.
The organization’s activities, revealed through interviews and records, provide a stark example of inherent conflicts in the Agriculture Department’s historical roles as both marketer of agriculture products and America’s nutrition police.
In one instance, Dairy Management spent millions of dollars on research to support a national advertising campaign promoting the notion that people could lose weight by consuming more dairy products, records and interviews show. The campaign went on for four years, ending in 2007, even though other researchers — one paid by Dairy Management itself — found no such weight-loss benefits.

True Justice: Dumbasses called dumbasses for their dumbassery.

Court temporarily blocks newly voted ban on Islamic Law according to Raw Story

Because, although it was intended to block the laws of those godless Moo-slems and the NWO orders from being implemented in A-OK Oklahoma, the law of unintended consequences has now come into play.

It seems that if the law is implemented, that would also block using that Christian favorite: The 10 Commandments.

The good news is, it probably wouldn't prevent the use of Pastafarianism: May we all be touched by his noodly appendage.

Arizona TeaBaggers Oppose Trash Collection Change. "Recycling is Socialism"

According to AZ Central

A decision by the Fountain Hills Town Council to hire a single trash hauler and begin a curbside recycling program has been met with angry protests from residents who accuse town leaders of overstepping their bounds and taking a leap toward socialism.

Little known fact. Trotsky was big on recycling.

Marx and Engels? Yep, you guessed it, recyclers.

Stalin.... Stalin was a HUGE booster. Had a seven-year plan just to implement recycling.

What Bill Gates was REALLY saying in Waiting on Superman: I want to hire cheap labor, so I'll get engineers from overseas. Meanwhile I'll be selling you the idea that America's education system has left me with no alternative. Because, as I've been telling you for years now, we have a shortage of engineers and scientists.

The Quaker Ladies Sewing Circle and Terrorist Society

It seems those pesky war protesting senior citizen Quakers are stirring up trouble.

According to PennLive:

Tracking the Twitter activity of law abiding citizens was part of the Pennsylvania Office of Homeland Security’s intelligence surveillance program.

According to internal Homeland Security e-mails produced through a Right-To-Know request, one of the targets of such surveillance was the Berks Peace Community, a 50-year-old group of Quaker-affiliated senior citizens. They gather on the Penn Street Bridge in Reading every Friday and quietly hold signs questioning America’s “war habit.”
It seems your tax dollars are being spent, in part, trying to track down the Tweets of a group that has been standing on the same bloody bridge for the last 4 years. Most of them are in their 60's and think Face Book is about as far as they want to go with that whole crazy technology thing.

The Reading Chief of Police William Heim was taking the devastating potential of real live anarchists roaming around his jurisdiction in stride:

“Informed knowledge of the anarchist movement would indicate that there is potential that the name ANSWER is enough to bring outside aggressive anarchists to the protest. ITRR has no intelligence to indicate either way. As discussed yesterday, if they come they will most likely act in a lone-wolf/small cell capacity outside the perimeter of free speech activity.”

Oooooo.... Lone Wolf Quakers. That's enough to raise the hair on the back of your neck.

Dumbasses.

The Reasons Your Choice for the Republican Majority in the House Sucks

I mean beyond the obvious ones.

Namely, the absolute gridlock described by Ezra Klein

From the perspective of actually getting anything done in the next two years, there was perhaps no worse outcome. Republicans don't fully control Congress, so they don't have enough power to be blamed for legislative outcomes. But Democrats don't control the House and they don't have a near-filibuster proof majority in the Senate, so they can't pass legislation. Republicans, in other words, are not left with the burden of governance, and Democrats are not left with the power to govern. Republicans don't have to be responsible, and Democrats can't do it for them.

Well, it seems that the Republican House majority will be the largest since 1928. Now why does 1928 sound so familiar? Oh... that's right.... that Depression thingy.

There is a saying, incorrectly attributed to Mark Twain that says: "History doesn't repeat itself, but it does rhyme."

I find the version attributed to John W. Campbell Jr more apropos: History doesn't always repeat itself. Sometimes it just screams, "Why don't you listen to me?" and lets fly with a big stick.

Un-Offical Bank Run Slated for December 7th. Care to Join Us?

I saw this floating around the InterTubes about a week ago. Didn't want to burden you with Google's translated page at that point. Instead Zero-Hedge does a nice job of summing it up for us.

...the effort has since expanded to a pan-European organized bank run day on December 7, 2010, and has metastasized to Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, the UK and Greece. We are confident that very soon the rest of Europe, which is currently gripped in a climate of extremely unpopular austerity, will join in this symbolic protest against banking, which unlike the US, may just succeed, considering the European banking system is in total shambles, and in far worse shape than its American counterpart.

In other words, if you weren't such slack-ass mamby-pamby momma's boys, you would've gotten up off your duffs and taken all your money out of the banks. Instead, you did what you always do. You gab about it.

"ooooo..... Curmudgeon, I'm soooo angry. Let me sit here for several weeks, bitching and moaning about the mean old banks and how they are ripping us off."

"What do you mean, then get up and do something about it? I AM doing something about it, I writing a sternly worded blog post. That'll show 'em...."
